The four houses related to svarga loka (higher heavens – nakṣatra, stars) are the Dharma (9th), Karma (10th), Lābha (11th) and Vyaya (12th). The bhāveśa (lord of bhāva) is the real kartā (doer) for that bhāva (house). If it is well placed from (a) lagna as well as (b) that bhāva, it generally, augers good results as (a) an experience for the native and (b) as manifestation of the bhāva, respectively. In this manner learn the principles involved and how to study the bhāveśa.
We also need to ponder over the three words – bhū, bhuva and svarga, and the manner in which the chart was divided into these three compartments using groups of four houses each. Bhū loka houses indicates all that which shall surely bring us back to this world; bhuva loka is that which causes emotions to manifest, disturbances (in the mind) and all that which we endeavour to control, but surely fail. Svarga is the path to the heavens and the direction of no-return. Think about each of these houses and its placement in each group. Later we will be using this concept in daśā and longevity. So think about these compartments and the houses.
Bhāgyeśa: Lord of Ninth
Examining the placement of the lord of the ninth house in different houses. We need to understand the word dharma and how this word is different for different beings, and yet the underlying similarity for all is the essence of dharma – satya (truth). This is also the house of fortune, bhāgya.
Karmeśa: Lord of Tenth
Results of the placement of the lord of the tenth house. Arguably, this is the single most important house after Lagna and symbolises the heavens. It is also called Ākāśa Lagna or Gagana Kendra.
Lābheśa: Lord of Eleventh
