New Batch

 Sanjay Rath  23 December 2014

Will the course commencing in January (2026 or any other year) consist of a new batch of students, or will it be a continuation of the course from previous years?

Answer: Whenever we refer to a ‘new batch,’ it signifies that it is intended for a fresh group of students. Other batches from previous years already exist; they are currently in their advanced years. They should not be combined with this specific batch of students. This constitutes a new batch for the first year of PJC—specifically, PJC Year-1.

We have a unique approach for PJC Class 1 students, which they must complete with their mentor. You’ll see under “Members >> PJC Class 1 >> Inauguration” that there are 15 lessons, including some slide presentations.

This introductory course aims to give you a realistic introduction to the wisdom of the sages. The lessons include well-illustrated examples and well-illustrated illustrations, covering the full scope of Vedic learning, focused on astrology. We have continued the traditional method of learning by considering this subject as the eye of the Vedas.

This is the same way in which we have learned the BṛhatParāśaraHorāŚāstra (BPHS), and this is exactly how we intend to teach this Vedic text. The current form of BPHS is the result of efforts to recover this lost scripture. Even at the height of his fame, Varāhamihira did not have access to BPHS, which suggests that this text was not publicly available and was preserved secretly by a few Brahmin families.

Later, fragmented chapters were recovered from across North India, and various versions of BPHS were published
