Sūtikā Lesson

08
Morning shows the day …that’s the basis of the Sūtikā Adhyāya of Parāśara. The detailed circumstances around the birth of the child speaks volumes about the destiny and blessings (or otherwise) that surround the birth of the child. With modern lighting systems, it may not be possible to make use of things like “direction of the lamp”, but then there are many other factors like number of people in the birthing chamber signified by the “planets reckoned from Lagna to the Moon”. For example, the Moon in Taurus Lagna, slightly ahead of the Lagna longitude, does indicate the birth of Śrī Kṛṣṇa in a solitary isolated jail where His mother Devaki delivered the baby. The exchange between the Lagneśa Venus and 3rd Lord Moon does indicate the exchange of babies where Kṛṣṇa was moved to Vrindavan and replaced with a baby girl. Therefore, exchange involving the lagneśa can indicate a mixup of babies.

The navāṁśa lagna needs utmost attention. Mars influence can indicate Caesarian section delivery unless Venus or Moon (water planets) block it. The nodes can indicate the use of equipment to pull the baby out. Saturn is a very dry planet and can make delivery painful as the passage becomes dry and without lubrication.
