Sanjay Rath uses the Brihat Parashara Horashastra, Jaimini Upadesha Sutra, Brihat Jataka, and Kalyanavarma's Saravali as the foundation of his astrology, and draws on various other Jyotish scriptures. His overall teachings and writings span various schools of thought, although he has not created his own brand of astrology.

Jyotish Devata

 Sanjay Rath  27 December 2014

As a subject, Jyotiṣa has several major branches, including:

Lakṣaṇa Śāstra – the study of bodily features, signs, and omens in the surroundings. This includes palmistry (hasta-rekhā śāstra), which is associated with Subrahmaṇya or Kārtikeya.
Hora Śāstra – the domain of Gaṇeśa.
Gaṇita Śāstra – mathematics, including Vedic numerology, is another major branch.

All these come under the three divisions: Gaṇita, Hora, and Saṁhitā.

Once, a debate (śāstrārtha) took place between Kārtikeya and Gaṇeśa, with Lord Śiva as the judge. Kārtikeya composed the entire Lakṣaṇa Śāstra, while Gaṇeśa composed Hora Śāstra.

Necessary Time

 Sanjay Rath  23 December 2014

How many hours—that is, how much time—is required per week? And in which month (approximately) will the contact program be held?
Answer: You may study the course at your own pace, as every individual has their own unique timeline and method for learning a subject. In Vedic studies, it is recommended to wake up early—between 4:00 and 4:30 AM—and to commence your studies by 5:00 AM. In this way, you can devote approximately 1–2 hours to study each morning—a time when there are no distractions, and the mind is well-rested and free from the accumulated energies of the day. During the early morning hours, the mind resides in a highly sattvic state; whereas, after approximately 8:00 AM, the rajasic influence of the day gradually begins to predominate.
A specific number of lessons will be made available on a regular basis each month, and you are expected to study them throughout that month.

The PJC Himalaya classes are typically held towards the end of the year, between September and November. All PJC sessions and classes invariably commence on a Thursday.

Query- How are online classes conducted through the internet?

Answer: Online Classes are conducted through Zoom or GotoWebinar.  These lessons are online pages and also include recorded videos in the form of slides from earlier held live classes .

We also have a Telegram group to answer your questions from time to time. Those who ask questions benefit the most, along with others.

You may study at your own pace, but it is advisable to study at least one hour daily.
