PJC Year-1 Curriculum
This constitutes the foundation of Vedic Astrology, wherein the teachings of Sage Parashara are explained in scientific detail. To ensure a robust foundation, it is essential to comprehend the principles embedded within each Shloka (verse). All planetary aspects (Drishtis) are derived logically and are not arbitrary.
- The highlight of this year is the initiation into the sacred Mantra of Maharishi Parashara. Those who have participated in the contact program have already received the benefit of this initiation. Others may consider scheduling a private consultation with the Jyotish Guru to receive the initiation.
- How do planets situated in the 12th House encourage the keeping of pets—particularly the Lagnesh (Ascendant Lord)? Is it because they cast their Kama Drishti (the aspect of the 7th House) upon the 6th House? Did you know that while all planets cast a general aspect upon the Trikonas (trines), the outer planets—Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn—possess special aspects? How do we derive specific significations by utilizing these special aspects of these planets? All of this is taught in the first year.
Curriculum
The PJC Class-1 curriculum encompasses the first 28 chapters of the Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra (BPHS), organized into eleven distinct subjects referred to as ‘Categories.’ Additionally, the course includes a prologue titled Shubharambh—meaning ‘Auspicious Beginning’—and an introduction titled Prakirna (Miscellaneous), wherein we discuss topics that fall outside the scope of the eleven core BPHS subjects.
Each of these subject-based categories is quite extensive, comprising numerous lessons, audio recordings, and video presentations.
For instance, the Shubharambh module alone consists of ten distinct lessons.
