Author: Sanjay Rath

Sanjay Rath (उड़िया: ସଞୟ ରଥ) comes from a traditional family of astrologers in Puri, whose lineage traces back to Sri Achyuta Das (Achyutananda). Sanjay Rath uses the Brihat Parashara Horashastra, Jaimini Upadesha Sutra, Brihat Jataka, and Kalyanavarma's Saravali as the foundation of his astrology, and draws on various other Jyotish scriptures. His overall teachings and writings span various schools of thought, although he has not created his own brand of astrology.

We have a unique approach for PJC Class 1 students, which they must complete with their mentor. You’ll see under “Members >> PJC Class 1 >> Inauguration” that there are 15 lessons, including some slide presentations.

This introductory course aims to give you a realistic introduction to the wisdom of the sages. The lessons include well-illustrated examples and well-illustrated illustrations, covering the full scope of Vedic learning, focused on astrology. We have continued the traditional method of learning by considering this subject as the eye of the Vedas.

Before we begin, we need to study a few sources to understand the importance of Maharsi Parasara. The first Lesson in this group was prepared for another course nd the original word document is lost. I hope some of you can preserve these file for postenty. There is a nice description of the life and times of Parasara.

Note: These Lessons were taught for the Brahaspati Jyotish Program and some of you may have already learnt them. I want to ensure that all students are on the same footing for this course. There are some more lessons in the Brihaspati course, which if necessary. will be mentioned at the right place for you to get.
